Comparative transcriptomics of salinomycin molecular toxicity in chicken and turkey

Salinomycin (Sal) is an antiparasitic agent used in veterinary medicine and is characterized by low therapeutic index and high toxicity. Among poultry, chickens are resistant to Sal toxicity, but turkeys are considered susceptible.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Cardiac arrest in paediatric patients often results in death or survival with severe brain injury. Therapeutic hypothermia, lowering of core body temperature to 32 to 34⁰C may reduce injury to the brain in the period after circulation has been restored.
