Heart Block and Atrioventricular Septal Defect
The Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon, 1985The cardiac conduction system was examined in 2 hearts which had repair of atrioventricular septal defect. The first was from a child known to have had a prolonged P-R interval and the second was from a girl who developed complete heart block before submission to surgery.

Heart failure in atrial septal defect
The American Journal of Medicine, 1965Abstract The hemodynamic data procured in thirtytwo adults with large atrial septal defects are reviewed and compared with those from six cases in children in whom atrial septal defect was complicated by pulmonary stenosis. Elevated right atrial pressure was a common finding in the adults.

First Heart Sound in Atrial Septal Defect
Angiology, 1981This is a retrospective study of 25 patients with secundum-type of ASD, confirmed by catheterization and angiocardiography. As controls, 25 normal subjects of matching age were studied. The phonocardiograms and carotid pulses of the 2 groups were recorded and compared. Special attention was paid to the interval between the 2 main components (Ia and Ib)

The second heart sound in atrial septal defect
The American Journal of Cardiology, 1971Abstract Ventricular and arterial pressure tracings, electrocardiograms and phonocardiograms were studied in 4 normal subjects and 52 patients with atrial septal defect. After excluding cases in which complicating factors were involved, 10 cases of secundum type and 3 cases of primum type were studied in detail.

The first heart sound in atrial septal defect
American Heart Journal, 1969Abstract An electrocardiographic, phonocardiographic, and right-sided cardiovascular pressure study was made in 18 cases of atrial septal defect. The study was primarily concerned with the various components (a, b, and c) of the first heart sound (I) and their relationship to the dynamic events of the right heart. The following facts were ascertained.

Congenital Heart Disease: Atrioventricular Septal Defects
2017Atrioventricular canal defects (AVC) constitute 4–5% of congenital heart disease. AVC are a spectrum of malformations, characterized by a defect in the atrial septum, a defect in the ventricular septum and a defect in one or both atrioventricular (AV) valves.

Fetal Heart Echocardiography: Ventricular Septal Defect
2015A 32-year-old woman was referred to us for fetal heart echocardiography. Her first child was 9 years old and completely healthy. She was at 35 weeks of pregnancy, and all her screening tests were normal.

"Left Heart Failure" and Atrial Septal Defects.
Annals of Internal Medicine, 1965Excerpt Complete clinical, laboratory, and repeated hemodynamic studies were carried out on 38 cases of large atrial septal defect of the secundum type ranging in age from 1 to 71 (mean, 38.6 years...

Heart Rate Behavior in Children with Atrial Septal Defect
Cardiology, 1998The aim of this study was to assess heart rate variability, a noninvasive parameter for studying the neurohumoral control of heart rate, in children with atrial septal defect. We examined five time-domain and three frequency-domain indices of heart rate variability determined from 24-hour Holter recordings in 20 children, aged 3–14 years, with secundum
