Heart block and leukemic cell infiltration of interventricular septum of heart

The American Journal of Medicine, 1949
Abstract A case report is presented, including post-mortem findings, of a patient with acute myeloid leukemia and heart block. There was no narrowing or occlusion of the coronary arteries. Histologic examination of sections of interventricular septum of the heart revealed leukemic cell infiltration, focal atrophy and fibrosis of myocardium.

The normal anatomy of the atrial septum in the human heart

American Heart Journal, 1979
The atrial septum is a blade-shaped structure with a concave anterior margin that reflects the curve of the ascending aorta, a convex posterior margin, and an inferior margin along the mitral annulus. The fossa ovalis comprises an average of 28 per cent of the total septal area, or 43 mm.2 in infants and 240 mm.2 in adults.

Criss-cross heart with intact ventricular septum

International Journal of Cardiology, 1990
We report a case of a criss-cross heart in a 6-month-old male child with echocardiographic and angiocardiographic findings of concordant atrioventricular and discordant ventriculoarterial connexions and an intact ventricular septum. This entity has been described with a ventricular septal defect as part of its own anatomic spectrum.

Morphogenesis of traumatic ventricular septum ruptures of the heart

Virchows Archiv A Pathological Anatomy and Histology, 1974
Following the attempt to arrange a clear description of the physical characteristics of blunt thoracic trauma, the morphological findings of a case of traumatic ventricular septum defect with interventricular and atrioventricular communications is presented in detail.

Hydatid Cyst of the Interatrial and Interventricular Septum of the Heart

Chest, 1991
To our knowledge this report describes the first case of a large hydatid cyst involving the full thickness of both the interatrial and interventricular septum of the heart, which was detected at autopsy. The cyst was intact. Clinically, there was complete heart block.

Late Heart Transplantation in Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome With Intact Atrial Septum

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2021
This case report describes 2 patients born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and an intact atrial septum who underwent a strategy of immediate extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and left atrial decompression followed by hybrid Norwood palliation as a bridge to further palliation.

Gradients of Capillarization in the Subendocardium of Rat Heart Septum

1992
Coronary capillaries and cardiac myocytes constitute the principal components of the heart. The importance of the relationship between these two components is underscored by the critical role of capillaries in supplying oxygen to the working myocytes.

[Aneurysm of the membranous heart septum].

Kardiologiia, 1990
Cardiac membranous septal aneurysm is a rare congenital abnormality which occurs in 0.3% of patients as suspected congenital heart disease and in 19.1% as suspected ventricular septal defect. The main method for its diagnosis is biplane cineangiocardiography along with ventricular contrast injection. The patients with membranous septal aneurysm without

Contribution of the aortopulmonary septum to the muscular outlet septum in the human heart.

Acta morphologica Neerlando-Scandinavica, 1988
The development of the outlet septum has been studied microscopically in 14 human embryos, ranging from 9 to 28 mm crown-rump length. Three tissue components are involved in the septation process: condensed mesenchyme of extracardiac origin, myocardium and endocardial cushion tissue.

Bloodstreams and the formation of the interatrial septum in the anuran heart

The Anatomical Record, 1963
AbstractPatterns of blood flow have been observed at several critical stages in the development of the frog heart. Shortly after the onset of circulation (Shumway stage 20) two inflowing streams were noted to cross in the sinus venosus and then continue through the atrium, parallel to each other.
