The purpose of this analysis was to assess the incidence, predictors and prognostic impact of acute heart failure (AHF) after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) using a self-expanding prosthesis. From November 2008 to June 2017, all consecutive patients undergoing TAVI in our center were prospectively included in our TAVI registry.

Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, 2013
Treatment options for re‐stenotic aortic valve prosthesis implanted by transcatheter technique have not been evaluated systematically. We describe the case of a 75‐year‐old dialysis patient who was treated by transcatheter aortic valve implantation 3.5 years ago and now presented with severe stenosis of the percutaneous heart valve.

Thirty-Year Results After Implantation of the Björk-Shiley Convexo-Concave Heart Valve Prosthesis
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2014Modifications of the Björk-Shiley valve prosthesis have shown good long-term results. The convexo-concave model, however, was recalled 27 years ago because of a propensity for breakage due to outlet strut fracture. The objective of this study is to describe the 30-year outcome after implantation of the Björk-Shiley convexo-concave mechanical heart ...

The aims of this study were to evaluate the intraoperative transesophageal echocardiographic (iTEE) characteristics and Doppler flow profile of aortic Chitra heart valve prosthesis (CHVP) under stable hemodynamic and loading conditions, and to compare and correlate the iTEE data with the postoperative transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) data obtained ...

The valve-in-valve (VinV) percutaneous procedure is a valuable alternative for the treatment of failed bioprosthetic surgical heart valves (SHV) in high-risk patients (Dvir et al. 2014).

In a European consortium, a decellularized tissue-engineered heart valve (dTEHV) based on vessel-derived cells, a fast-degrading scaffold and a self-expanding stent has been developed. The aim of this study was to demonstrate that percutaneous delivery is feasible.

[Iron deficiency following implantation of a heart valve prosthesis].
Zeitschrift fur Kardiologie, 1976In 44 patients with single or multiple valvular protheses of the heart, the problem of secondary iron deficiency due to mechanical hemolysis was investigated. In 17 cases, elevated serum transferrin values were noted, compared to elevated serum iron levels in only 6 cases.

An 82-year-old woman with severe aortic stenosis was referred. She had previously undergone mitral valve replacement. We planned transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) with transfemoral approach. We planned to use the Safari-dedicated TAVI guidewire. No studies have reported clinical application of the dedicated TAVI guidewire in a patient with
