Early Bleeding Risk After DOAC Initiation With Concomitant Amiodarone in Older Adults With Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Amiodarone is frequently co‐prescribed with direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) in atrial fibrillation (AF), but its impact on early bleeding risk after DOAC initiation in older adults remains uncertain. We evaluated short‐term safety outcomes associated with concomitant amiodarone use at the time of DOAC initiation.

Dynamic Behavior of Left Atrial Low‐Voltage Areas in Persistent Atrial Fibrillation: Implications for Substrate‐Guided Ablation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
Patient selection and analysis flow diagram. The exact pre‐inclusion denominator and reliable reason‐specific exclusion counts could not be reconstructed because a prospectively maintained screening log was unavailable. The diagram summarizes the final study cohort and analysis‐specific sample sizes. AF, atrial fibrillation; LVA, low‐voltage area; SR1,

Large Language Model‐Based Localization of Premature Ventricular Contraction Origins: A Retrospective Diagnostic Accuracy Study

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accurate localization of premature ventricular contraction (PVC) origin from 12‐lead electrocardiography (ECG) is important for procedural planning in catheter ablation. Although convolutional neural network (CNN)‐based models have shown promising diagnostic performance, they require task‐specific training and remain limited in ...

Cardiac structure and function in psoriasis: A cross‐sectional analysis of the PSOCADIA study

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
Individuals with well‐treated psoriasis exhibited a higher burden of myocardial dysfunction (GLS < 16%) compared with controls, independent of cardiometabolic comorbidity. The prevalence was similar across psoriasis severity, highlighting the importance of cardiovascular assessment in all patients with psoriasis. Abstract Background Psoriasis is linked

Frailty and Five‐Year Mortality After TAVR in Patients Aged 75 Years and Older

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, EarlyView.
In patients aged 75 years and older undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement, frailty assessed by the Clinical Frailty Scale was the most robust geriatric factor independently associated with five‐year mortality. This study highlights the specific prognostic value of frailty beyond short‐term outcomes.
