Fluctuation Relation for Heat Engines [PDF]
We derive the exact equality, referred to as the fluctuation relation for heat engines (FRHE), that relates statistics of heat extracted from one of the two heat baths and the work per one cycle of a heat engine operation. Carnot's inequality of classical thermodynamics follows as a direct consequence of the FRHE.

Autonomous rotor heat engine. [PDF]
The triumph of heat engines is their ability to convert the disordered energy of thermal sources into useful mechanical motion. In recent years, much effort has been devoted to generalizing thermodynamic notions to the quantum regime, partly motivated by

Revisiting Endoreversible Carnot Engine: Extending the Yvon Engine [PDF]
Curzon and Ahlborn’s 1975 paper, a pioneering work that inspired the birth of the field of finite-time thermodynamics, unveiled the efficiency at maximum power (EMP) of the endoreversible Carnot heat engine, now commonly referred to as the Curzon–Ahlborn

Enhancement of Quantum Heat Engine by Encircling a Liouvillian Exceptional Point. [PDF]
Quantum heat engines are expected to outperform the classical counterparts due to quantum coherences involved. Here we experimentally execute a single-ion quantum heat engine and demonstrate, for the first time, the dynamics and the enhanced performance ...

Spin Quantum Heat Engine Quantified by Quantum Steering. [PDF]
Following the rising interest in quantum information science, the extension of a heat engine to the quantum regime by exploring microscopic quantum systems has seen a boon of interest in the last decade.

Interaction-enhanced quantum heat engine [PDF]
We study a minimal quantum Otto heat engine, where the working medium consists of an interacting few-body system in a harmonic trap. This allows us to consider the interaction strength as an additional tunable parameter during the work strokes.

Quantum-Enhanced Heat Engine Based on Superabsorption. [PDF]
We propose a quantum-enhanced heat engine with entanglement. The key feature of our scheme is superabsorption, which facilitates enhanced energy absorption by entangled qubits.

Coherence-enhanced quantum-dot heat engine [PDF]
We show that quantum coherence can enhance the performance of a continuous quantum heat engine in the Lindblad description. We investigate the steady-state solutions of the particle-exchanging quantum heat engine, composed of degenerate double quantum ...

Fluctuations in heat engines [PDF]
Abstract At the dawn of thermodynamics, Carnot’s constraint on efficiency of heat engines stimulated the formulation of one of the most universal physical principles, the second law of thermodynamics. In recent years, the field of heat engines acquired a new twist due to enormous efforts to develop and describe microscopic machines based

Equivalent Heat Load Test on Hot Aircraft Engine Components [PDF]
The paper presents the assumptions and methodology for investigating equivalent heat load testing of hot aircraft engine components. The basic heat loads occurring in an aircraft engine during aircraft flight are characterised.
