Heat exchange in adiabatic calorimeters

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Bureau of Standards Section A: Physics and Chemistry, 1963
Heat flow in adiabatic calorimeters of various shapes and materials is described in terms of linear partial differential equations. From these equations it is deduced that in the intermittent heating method the heat exchange between the calorimeter and the adiabatic shield due to transients at the beginning and end of the heating period can be made to ...

Ionic Precursors Transformed Into Vinyl Acetate Synthesis Catalyst via Reaction‐Driven Restructuring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that a simple physical mixture of Pd and Au ionic precursors, KOAc promoter, and SiO2 support can transform into a highly active vinyl acetate synthesis catalyst through reaction‐driven restructuring. The results highlight reaction‐induced restructuring as an innovative and sustainable catalyst design strategy.

Fundamentals of Heat Exchangers

open access: yes, 2018
Heat exchangers are used to transfer heat between two sources. The term exchanger applies to allequipment used to transfer heat between two streams. However, the term is commonly used to equipment inwhich two process streams exchange heat with each other. This research paper explains the basics of heatexchangers, covering such topics as: classification;
