AbstractStudies of the effects of nasal respiration on the lower respiratory tract, and on metabolic processes generally, have largely been confined to those occurring during inspiration. Expiration through the nose has equally profound effects and has been studied in detail in some animals.Under certain circumstances both heat and water loss from the ...

An apparatus is described, which is intended for electrical analog simulation of the thermal behaviour of structures in contact with fluid flows, either when the structure is heat generating or not (for instance fuel elements of heterogeneous nuclear reactors, heat exchangers, and so on). The apparatus is based on a ten channel-ten position commutator,

Plastic properties may be used in the manufacturing of heat exchangers. Considering their advantages, their field of application is quite large: low temperature heat recovery, concentration of solutions. Three equipment are described: a liquid-liquid shell and tube exchanger, a gas-gas shell exchanger and a falling flow evaporator.

The research of optimal design of heat exchanger in heat exchanger heat meter
Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Modelling, Identification and Control, 2011In heat exchanger heat meter, the heat exchanger is equivalent to a flowmeter. The flow and heat can be calculated by measuring the inlet and outlet temperature of heat exchanger. It greatly prevents the flowmeter from the problem of inaccuracy and damage which are caused by the quality of water.

Comparison of Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers With Double Pipe Heat Exchangers
ASME 2010 10th Biennial Conference on Engineering Systems Design and Analysis, Volume 2, 2010In this study, a computer program is developed to design and compare gasketed plate heat exchangers with double pipe heat exchangers. The computer program is coded in MATLAB. The user interface of the program is prepared in MATLAB Guide. The program uses hot and cold fluid properties as input data and calculates the characteristics of gasketed plate ...

Heat exchangers are used to transfer heat from a hot fluid to a cold fluid. In general, the two fluids flow through appropriate channels (tubes, spaces between parallel plates or between tubes) within the equipment. Solid surfaces made of metal or, less often, of some polymer (teflon, e.g.) separate the fluids.
