This study demonstrates an artificial polymodal nociceptor whose firing threshold is actively modulated by temperature. A volatile TiN/TiOx/ZnO/TiOx/ITO memristor shows interfacial ion–driven resistive switching and membrane‐potential‐like dynamics, enabling temperature‐dependent nociceptive behavior.

We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Investigating the Magnitude and Range of the Urban Heat Island within Gettysburg, Pennsylvania [PDF]
Cities experience UHIs due to the thermal properties (albedo, thermal emittance, radiative flux, and heat capacity) of human-made substances and urban geometry.

It is known that there are severe heat-island effects in the urbanized area such as Taipei and that temperature increases are causing hydrological change. The city continues to develop, so it is urgent that the region creates early warning methods.

The shape of guanine self‐assemblies is tuned by introducing alkyl (G8), fluoroalkyl (G8f), and oligoether (G8g) side chains into the G moiety. The scanning tunneling microscopy results and calculations show that the presence and type of the side chain strongly affect the G self‐assembly network.

Only in the Heat of the Moment? A Study of the Relationship between Weather and Mortality in Germany [PDF]
In this study we analyze the relationship between heat events and mortality in Germany. The main research questions are: Does heat lead to rising mortality and if yes, are the effects persistent or compensated for in the near future?

A study of the urban heat island effect in Guangzhou
Abstract As the world economy continues to grow and energy consumption increases, the global climate is gradually warming. Among them, the economic activities in metropolitan areas are more intense compared to other areas, forming an urban heat island effect where the temperature in the urban area is higher than that in the surrounding ...

A reactive in situ solution complexation strategy reconstructs the surface of 2.0 eV ultra‐wide‐bandgap perovskites via proton transfer. This chemical modulation eliminates metallic defects and induces a degenerate‐like n‐type surface, establishing an Ohmic tunneling contact.
