The Concept of Segmented Wind Turbine Blades: A Review
There is a trend to increase the length of wind turbine blades in an effort to reduce the cost of energy (COE). This causes manufacturing and transportation issues, which have given rise to the concept of segmented wind turbine blades.

8-stroke low heat rejection engine
In a combustion engine, 25% of the energy present in the fuel is wasted as heat; this heat is dissipated to avoid overheating and prevent damages. This article presented a simulation work developed to study an internal combustion engine with a low heat ...

The heat of combustion of beryllium in fluorine
An experimental determination of the energies of combustion in fluorine of polytetrafluoroethylene film and powder and of mixtures of beryllium with polytetrafluoroethylene gives for reaction (1) Δ H 25 C ° = - 1022.22 kJ mol-1 (-244.32 kcal mol-1) with an overall precision of 0.96 kJ mol-1 (0.23 kcal mol-1) at the 95 percent confidence limits.

Comparison of Moving Boundary and Finite-Volume Heat Exchanger Models in the Modelica Language
When modeling low capacity energy systems, such as a small size (5–150 kWel) organic Rankine cycle unit, the governing dynamics are mainly concentrated in the heat exchangers. As a consequence, the accuracy and simulation speed of the higher level system

Heat of combustion and heat of formation of aluminum carbide
The heat of combustion of aluminum carbide (A14C3) in oxygen was measured by means of bomb calorimetry. The solid product of the combustion consisted of alpha aluminum oxide and another crystalline form of alumina, which was characterized as delta alumina. The heats of combustion were corrected for the formation of the delta aluminum oxide. The results,

On the applicability of empirical heat transfer models for hydrogen combustion engines [PDF]
Hydrogen-fuelled internal combustion engines are being investigated as an alternative for current drive trains because they have a high efficiency, near-zero noxious and zero tailpipe greenhouse gas emissions.
