Uranium Doped Gallium Nitride Epitaxial Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Uranium was controllably added to gallium nitride using molecular beam epitaxy. The uranium atoms segregated into vertically oriented regions with higher doping levels. Concentrations up to a few percent were achieved without showing significant degradation in the crystalline quality or optical characteristics. Low electrical resistivity was maintained

Design of high-temperature sodium heat pipe with composite wick based on non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA)

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
As small modular reactors continue to advance, heat pipe reactors (HPRs) are being developed by multiple organizations. Designing heat pipes with optimal heat transfer capability is crucial for the effective performance of HPRs. Based on NSGA-III genetic

Heat pipe cooling system with sensible heat sink [PDF]

open access: yes
A heat pipe cooling system which employs a sensible heat sink is discussed. With this type of system, incident aerodynamic heat is transported via a heat pipe from the stagnation region to the heat sink and absorbed by raising the temperature of the heat

Liquid-metal heat transfer in a cocurrent- flow, double-pipe heat exchanger is investigated [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Analysis of liquid-metal heat transfer in cocurrent-flow, double-pipe heat exchangers shows that heat-transfer coefficients depend upon the operating conditions of the heat exchanger and that use of the customary design equation to predict heat-exchanger
