Heat pipe heat storage performance

Heat Recovery Systems and CHP, 1989
Abstract Heat storage offers essential thermal energy saving for heating. A ground heat store equipped with heat pipes connecting it with a heat source and user is considered in the paper. It has been shown that such a heat exchanging system along with a batch energy source meets, to a considerable extent, house heating requirements.

Heat pipe heat exchanger optimization

Heat Recovery Systems and CHP, 1991
Abstract An equation to determine the optimum position of the partition separating a heat pipe into evaporator and condenser regions in a heat pipe heat exchanger was formulated by minimizing the total thermal resistance of the heat path. The optimal position of the partition plate for various operating conditions was found and analysed.

Heat Pipes Having Deviating Configurations; Flexible Heat Pipes

1987
This chapter and its sections deal with inventions which specifically are directed to the configurations of heat pipes. These configurations may differ from the usual tube like pipes having a circular cross-section either due to the mode of operation or to the use whereto the heat pipe has to be designed.

Heat Transfer Effectiveness of Heat Pipes

Journal of Heat Recovery Systems, 1982
Abstract Heat transfer effectiveness (recovery factor), HTE, of one heat pipe, HP, is defined as the function of two dimensionless groups of NTU type (number of transfer units) from the] evaporator and the condenser. In the case of the HP heat exchanger it is demonstrated that the HTE is a function made up of only three elements, viz; the HTE of the ...

Two-component heat pipes

4th Thermophysics Conference, 1969
This paper presents a study of the operational characteristics of two-component heat pipes. A qualitative description is given on the basis of the thermodynamic phase equilibrium for binary mixtures. The present physical model augments in several fundamental aspects the one existing in the literature. The experimental results obtained from waterethanol

THE HEAT PIPE

Naval Engineers Journal, 1967
The principle of the heat pipe is an amazingly simple one. Phenomena involved are surface tension and latent heat of the working fluid. There are no parts that move. Its effective thermal conductivity is hundreds of times more than solid conductors like copper and silver.
