On calculating heating and cooling requirements

Energy and Buildings, 1979
Abstract Various methods of determining the heating and cooling requirements of buildings are discussed. Two categories are identified: 1, first-principle methods; 2, simplified methods a) dynamic, b) stationary. One method is chosen from each of these categories to be used as a basis for comparison.

Quantifying Heat Requirements for SAGD Startup Phase: Steam Injection, Electrical Heating

Journal of Canadian Petroleum Technology, 2013
Summary A proper and effective startup of the steam-assisted-gravity-drainage (SAGD) well pairs, where both horizontal wells inject steam, is a key parameter to SAGD performance. In the past, a number of investigations have been conducted on the optimum startup strategy and operational procedures; however, fewer studies have modelled the

Materials requirements for high heat flux components

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1984
In-vessel components in all types of fusion devices are exposed to both high heat and high particle fluxes. Increased pulse lengths and high levels of auxiliary heating power in machines now coming on line and in various states of planning pose new demands on materials.

The Heat Requirements of Simple Intermittently Heated Interior Walls and Furniture

Journal of Applied Physics, 1941
This paper does for simple interior walls and furniture what the previous paper did for simple exterior walls. Unidirectional heat flow is assumed and the boundary conditions are simpler than for the simple exterior wall so that the solution is easily expressed in the form of a formula.
