Heat pipe heat storage performance

Heat Recovery Systems and CHP, 1989
Abstract Heat storage offers essential thermal energy saving for heating. A ground heat store equipped with heat pipes connecting it with a heat source and user is considered in the paper. It has been shown that such a heat exchanging system along with a batch energy source meets, to a considerable extent, house heating requirements.

Latent Heat Storage: Storage Materials, Heat Transfer, and Applications

ChemBioEng Reviews, 2017
AbstractPhase change materials are frequently used in thermal storage systems due to their large latent heat und isothermal nature. This paper discusses different phase change materials. Techniques for improving their thermophysical properties are highlighted. Their corrosive effects on the stability of construction materials are approached.

Heat Storage - Feasibility of Geological Heat Storage Final Report

2011
Heat is the biggest end use of energy in the UK - most of it is used for heating homes and providing hot water. This research project examined the feasibility of capturing large quantities of waste heat from power stations and industrial processes and then storing it underground for later use in homes and offices. It investigated the cost effectiveness

Transient Heat Delivery and Storage Process in a Thermocline Heat Storage System

Volume 6: Emerging Technologies: Alternative Energy Systems; Energy Systems: Analysis, Thermodynamics and Sustainability, 2009
Parabolic trough power systems utilizing concentrated solar energy have proven their worth as a means for generating electricity. However, one major aspect preventing the technologies widespread acceptance is the deliverability of energy beyond a narrow window during peak hours of the sun.
