Preparation and characterization of an aluminum ammonium sulfate dodecahydrate-based composite phase change material with low supercooling and high thermal conductivity

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Aluminum ammonium sulfate dodecahydrate (AASD) is a promising hydrated salt-type phase change material. However, its application is severely hindered by its large undercooling and low thermal conductivity.

Heat Transfer between Weakly Coupled Systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
We study the heat transfer between weakly coupled systems with flat interface. We present simple analytical results which can be used to estimate the heat transfer coefficient. As applications we consider the heat transfer across solid-solid contacts, and between a membrane (graphene) and a solid substrate (amorphous SiO2).

A Python package for fast GPU‐based proton pencil beam dose calculation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Open‐source GPU‐based Monte Carlo (MC) proton dose calculation algorithms provide high speed and unparalleled accuracy but can be complex to integrate with new applications and remain slower than GPU‐based pencil beam (PB) methods, which sacrifice some physical accuracy for sub‐second plan calculation.

An investigation into the feasibility and efficacy of stereotactic radiosurgery for 1–3 cm single brain lesions on the ring‐mounted Halcyon LINAC

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose An evaluation of the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of the Halcyon ring delivery system (RDS) for stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) treatment to relatively small (1–3 cm) brain lesions. Methods After completing the extensive in‐house quality assurance checks including Winston–Lutz test and independent dose verification via MD Anderson ...

Experimental investigation of a forced convection heat transfer of the organic fluid R-125 at supercritical pressures and under organic rankine cycle conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The organic Rankine cycle (ORC) is a suitable technology for utilizing low-grade temperature heat sources of ~100 °C from various industry processes. In the ORC cycle an organic fluid with a lower boiling point is used as a working medium.

TRANSFER OF HEAT WITH CONVECTION

open access: yes, 2015
In this thesis work we have studied the problem of heat transfer. We have obtained the solutions of the heat equation by analytical method, computational method and also by using computer programming (C++) method. We have described the solution of the heat equation by flow chart method.

Heat transfer between elastic solids with randomly rough surfaces

open access: yes, 2009
We study the heat transfer between elastic solids with randomly rough surfaces. We include both the heat transfer from the area of real contact, and the heat transfer between the surfaces in the noncontact regions.
