Modeling of a Double Gas Hydrate Particle Ignition

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This paper presents the numerical research findings for the conditions and characteristics of methane-propane hydrate particle ignition. The curves of the ignition delay times of a hydrate particle versus its size and ambient temperature were obtained ...

Heat transfer, condensation and fog formation in crossflow plastic heat exchangers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
In this paper heat transfer of air-water-vapour mixtures in plastic crossflow heat exchangers is studied theoretically and experimentally. First, a model for heat transfer without condensation is derived, resulting in a set of classical differential ...

Persistent Directional Current at Equilibrium in Nonreciprocal Many-Body Near Field Electromagnetic Heat Transfer [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett. 117, 134303 (2016), 2016
We consider the consequence of nonreciprocity in near-field heat transfer by studying systems consisting of magneto-optical nanoparticles. We demonstrate that, in thermal equilibrium, a nonreciprocal many-body system in heat transfer can support a persistent directional heat current, without violating the second law of thermodynamics.

The influence of multiple tubes on the tube-to-bed heat transfer in a fluidised bed [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
There have been few studies modelling both flow and heat transfer in fluidised beds. The kinetic theory of granular flow (KTGF) has been used for flow prediction in the past without heat transfer modelling.

Study on Chemical Kinetics Mechanism of Ignition Characteristics of Dimethyl Ether Blended with Small Molecular Alkanes

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Dimethyl ether (DME)/C1-C4 alkane mixtures are ideal fuel for homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engines. The comparison of ignition delay and multi-stage ignition for DME/C1-C4 alkane mixtures can provide theoretical guidance for expanding ...

Study of a laminar falling film flowing over a wavy wall column: Part I. Numerical investigation of the flow pattern and the coupled heat and mass transfer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Flow pattern and heat and mass transfer characteristics for a film flowing over a vertical wavy column are numerically investigated in a laminar flow regime.
