Heat transfer

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1956
ConclusionsNumerous new heat transfer developments have been reported in the last few years. These developments are useful for a better understanding of the basic theory and for developing improved equipment. In many cases both heat and mass transfer occur simultaneously in commercial operations.

The Transfer of Heat Energy

1984
We are all familiar with the fact that heat energy can travel from one place to another. We can, for example, on sunny days feel the warmth from the Sun’s rays which have travelled millions of miles across space. In the winter, houses are kept warm by heat energy which travels from fires and radiators to other parts of the buildings.

A feature of heat transfer to organic heat-transfer media

Journal of Engineering Physics, 1986
It is shown that the nature of the changes in the wall temperature during heat transfer to an organic heat-transfer medium accompanied by the formation of deposits depends strongly on the roughness of the surface.

Vortices and Heat Transfer

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 1997
AbstractFor internal flow the influence of vortices on heat transfer is studied mainly numerically. Laminar channel flows with two types of periodic vortex generators (VGs), transverse ribs and rectangular winglets, are considered. The transverse ribs generate transverse vortices (TVs), and the rectangular winglets at 45° angle of attack generate ...

Heat Transfer Spectroscopy and “Heat Transfer-Distance” Curves

Volume 13: Nano-Manufacturing Technology; and Micro and Nano Systems, Parts A and B, 2008
Thermal radiative transfer between objects as well as near-field forces such as van der Waals or Casimir forces have their origins in the fluctuations of the electrodynamic field. Near-field radiative transfer between two objects can be enhanced by a few order of magnitude compared to the far-field radiative transfer that can be described by Planck’s ...

HEAT TRANSFER IN THE SEVENTIES

Proceeding of International Heat Transfer Conference 5, 1971
The survey reported herein has been conducted under the auspices of the National Science Foundation whose support is gratefully acknowledged. This survey has been made possible through the cooperation of the many persons whose advice I sought and who have responded most generously by supplying information and offering suggestions.
