The analysis of the heat transfer in water [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2016 5th International Conference on Advanced Materials and Computer Science, 2016
The High-speed development of Self-regulation temperature control technique gives a lot convenience to most people. Essentially people feel the temperature of water by personal perception. This article discusses the circumstances that people use personal feeling to make a judgment and manual control the faucet.

Evaluation of selected methods of the heat transfer coefficient determination in fin-and-tube cross-flow heat exchangers

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The work is a part of a thermodynamic analysis of a finned cross-flow heat exchanger of the liquid-gas type. The heat transfer coefficients on the liquid and the gas side and the area of the heat transfer are the main parameters describing such a device.

Newtonian heating effect in pulsating magnetohydrodynamic nanofluid flow through a constricted channel: A numerical study

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
This article investigates the pulsatile flow of viscous incompressible MHD nanofluid in a rectangular channel. At the upper and lower walls, the channel has symmetrical constrictions.

Development of a heat transfer analysis program by an efficient and simplified numerical technique: Application to LNGC

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
Heat transfer analysis in ships handling LNG as cargo or fuel at extremely low temperatures has two purposes, i.e., 1) to select steel grades based on temperature distribution to protect the hull structure from extremely low-temperature cargo and 2) to ...

Numerical Solution of the Flow of Air Inside a Circular Duct Encountering Series of Vertically Hanging Heated Circular Baffled Discs Provided at Different Angles [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
Efficient vortex generators are the key for heat transfer augmentation. In the present work, a novel approach of generating vortex in the proximity of the heat transfer surface is examined using CFD analysis.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Simulation and validation of heat transfer during wood heat treatment process

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2017
Heat treatment can substantially improve the quality of wood materials. Temperature is the most important factor during heat treatment affecting the properties of boards, so optimizing the treatment process should include careful investigation of thermal

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Research on a Multilayer Two-Dimensional Equivalent Thermal Analysis Method for an Integrated Transmitting Antenna Cold Plate

open access: yesEnergies
This study proposes a multilayer equivalent thermal analysis method, based on flow boundary layer theory, considering the computational problem of three-dimensional (3D) conjugate heat transfer analysis of a transmitting antenna cold plate.
