Electrohydrodynamic Augmentation of Forced Convection Heat Transfer
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1985Augmentation of heat transfer due to injection of an ion flux through a thermal boundary layer is measured in a forced convection heat transfer apparatus. A nickel mesh injection grid is used to minimize the effect of the ``corona wind'' associated with point discharges and thus to isolate an electrohydrodynamic (EHD) instability mechanism.

Heat Transfer Augmentation in Convecting Film Flows
Volume 1: Heat Transfer in Energy Systems; Thermophysical Properties; Theory and Fundamental Research in Heat Transfer, 2013The manifestation of unsteady heat transfer in incompressible forced convecting flows, such as film flows, is of direct practical interest to a large number of important industrial applications, such as film evaporators and reactors. In this paper an attempt is made to improve our fundamental understanding of unsteady heat transfer in these flows, and ...

Heat Transfer Augmentation in an Oscillating Flow
Heat Transfer, Volume 2, 2002For combustors a heat transfer augmentation of two to five times higher than expected has been reported. Experiments, where the temperature profile in the tail pipe of the pulse combustor has been measured, give no indication why the heat transfer should be augmented.

Nucleate Boiling Heat Transfer and Its Augmentation
1990Publisher Summary Nucleate boiling is a complicated phenomenon accompanied with a phase change from liquid to vapor. The nucleate boiling heat transfer is one of the most important modes of heat exchange occurring in several constituent devices of thermal plant.

Critical Heat Flux, Post-CHF Heat Transfer and Their Augmentation
2003The present work reports on the state-of-the-art review on the critical heat flux and the post-dryout heat transfer. The first two sections are somewhat tutorial, and are featured in a similar way. They provide, after a brief introduction, with information on parametric trends, i.e.
