Particle transport and heat loads in NIO1

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2015
NIO1 is a compact radio frequency ion source designed to generate a 60 kV-135 mA hydrogen negative ion beam and it aims at continuous operation, which implies a detailed thermo-mechanical analysis of the beam-facing components, in particular, the accelerator grids. A 3D analysis of the entire NIO1 beam has been performed for the first time with a fully

Oscillation-induced heat transport: Heat transport characteristics along liquid-columns of oscillation-controlled heat transport tubes

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 1995
It is known that heat transfer between two liquid-reservoirs maintained at different temperatures and connected to each other by a capillary bundle is markedly enhanced by oscillatory flow in the bundle. In this paper, first, the effects of physical properties of the working liquid on the enhanced heat flow rate are investigated.

Heat transportation by oscillatory flow in a new type of heat transportation pipe

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2009
Abstract The present paper deals with experimental and numerical study on the longitudinal heat transportation by an oscillatory water flow in a double tube type heat transportation pipe. Experiments were performed to measure the heat transportation rate in the ranges of 2.3 ⩽ Wo ⩽ 7.2 and 400 ⩽ Re max  ⩽ 6600.

The Transport of Heat

1996
In this chapter, we shall take a closer look at the transport of entropy. Simple aspects will be introduced that go beyond what we already studied in Chapter 4 (Section 4.6). This extends the treatment of thermal processes into the realm of phenomena which are missing from the theory of the thermodynamics of ideal fluids (Chapter 5).

Decoupling charge and heat transport

Science, 2017
Solid-State Physics In metals, electrons carry both charge and heat. As a consequence, electrical conductivity and the electronic contribution to the thermal conductivity are typically proportional to each other. Lee et al.

Heat and Mass Transport

1990
In this chapter, our primary objective is to construct models of heat transport in porous media. However, since advection (with a fluid moving through the void space), is one of the transport modes, any heat transport model must treat, simultaneously, also the transport of fluid(s) mass.
