Evaluation of flux expulsion and flux trapping sensitivity of srf cavities fabricated from cold work Nb sheet with successive heat treatment [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The main source of RF losses leading to lower quality factor of superconducting radio-frequency cavities is due to the residual magnetic flux trapped during cool-down. The loss due to flux trapping is more pronounced for cavities subjected to impurities doping.

Effect of high temperature heat treatments on the quality factor of a large-grain superconducting radio-frequency niobium cavity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Large-grain Nb has become a viable alternative to fine-grain Nb for the fabrication of superconducting radio-frequency cavities. In this contribution we report the results from a heat treatment study of a large-grain 1.5 GHz single-cell cavity made of "medium purity" Nb.

Mechanochemical synthesis of pnictide compounds and superconducting Ba0.6K0.4Fe2As2 bulks with high critical current density [PDF]

open access: yesSuperconductor Science and Technology 26, 074003 (2013), 2013
BaFe2As2 (Ba-122) and (Ba0.6K0.4)Fe2As2 (K-doped Ba-122) powders were successfully synthesized from the elements using a reaction method, which incorporates a mechanochemical reaction using high-impact ball milling. Mechanically-activated, self-sustaining reactions (MSR) were observed while milling the elements together to form these compounds.

Heat distribution under microwave heating treatment

open access: yesBulletin of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, 2019
This paper presents the process of microwave heating treatment to kill the rice weevil to improve the quality and quantity of rice for industrial storage purpose. Since many years ago, heat uniformity has been a major drawback of microwave heating application.
