The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

AbstractElectrification of distillation processes through discretely heat integrated distillation columns (D‐HIDiC) is an effective approach to enhance energy efficiency and lower carbon emissions. For separating systems with high temperature lift, multi‐stage compression and inter‐stage cooling are necessary to link the high‐pressure rectifier and low‐

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

Energy efficient refrigeration system using latent heat storage, PCM
This study examines the performance enhancement offered by a phase change material (PCM) connected to the evaporator and condenser of a household refrigerator that utilizes R134a as the refrigerant. The features of the refrigerant and its properties determine how quickly a refrigerator releases and stores heat. The use of PCM accelerates heat transfer,
