Efficient Production of Biodiesel Using Radio Frequency Heating

Energy & Fuels, 2008
Fast transesterification of canola oil and methanol for biodiesel production was achieved using radio frequency (RF) heating. The conversion rate of oil to biodiesel reached 97.3% with RF heating for 3 min, a NaOH concentration (based on oil) of 1.0%, and a methanol/oil molar ratio of 9:1.

Efficiency of local warming using electrical heating pad

2013
To keep a constant core body temperature is important not only for comfort but also for health. The maintenance of normothermia during operation will reduce the incidence of numerous complications, including morbid cardiac events, surgical-wound infection, and coagulopathy.

Making efficient use of free heat in production

Filtration + Separation, 2015
When operating an anaerobic digestion biogas plant, it makes sense to maximize process efficiency at all stages. But not making the most of heat naturally generated as part of the process could be costing thousands of pounds a year. Matt Hale, international sales manager at UK-based HRS Heat Exchangers, explains how increasing efficiency can lead to ...

Efficient laser heating of transparent liquids using multiphoton absorption

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 1997
Abstract At high laser intensities, otherwise transparent liquids can absorb strongly by the mechanism of multiphoton absorption, resulting in heating and temperature increases orders of magnitude greater than that from classical, low-intensity mechanisms.
