An integrated approach to indoor contaminant modelling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Air pollutants are those chemicals that are not generally present in the atmosphere because of natural causes but are disseminated into the air by human activity. In most parts of Europe, outdoor pollutants are principally the products of combustion from

Development of concepts for a zero-fossil-energy greenhouse [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Dutch government and greenhouse horticultural practice aim for strongly reduced fossil energy use and of environmental loads in 2010 and energy neutral greenhouses in 2020.

Adaptive Carbon Nanotube Patches for Versatile Electronic Textiles and Wind‐Harvesting Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An adhesion‐tunable electronic textile patch based on a carbon nanotube/paraffin composite is presented, enabling direct, adhesive‐free integration with fabrics. Pressure‐responsive bonding allows reversible or permanent attachment on demand.

Effect of Indoor Green Walls on Environment Perception and Well-Being of Occupants in Office Buildings

open access: yesEnergies
Office employees often face discomfort due to dry air, impacting their productivity. Existing solutions like standalone humidifiers or HVAC-integrated systems are either inefficient or costly.

Some aspects of the energy cost linked to the IAQ. Impact of free-cooling and heat recovery in office buildings. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
CLIMA 2000 (.1997.BRUSELAS)Increasing air exchange rate to improve IAQ may increase energy consumption, but this increase may be compensated for by strategies such as free cooling and heat recovery. The frame of the proposed paper is the examination of

Physiopathological rationale of using high-flow nasal therapy in the acute and chronic setting: A narrative review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Chronic lung disease and admissions due to acute respiratory failure (ARF) are becoming increasingly common. Consequently, there is a growing focus on optimizing respiratory support, particularly non-invasive respiratory support, to manage these ...

Radiative Cooling by Green(er) Solvents‐Upcycled Polyvinyl Chloride From Drug Blisters Waste

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores upcycling poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) from used pharmaceutical blisters into sustainable radiative cooling materials. Using solvent separation and membrane fabrication, PVC was converted into white membranes paired with aluminum foil.

Analysis of the Use of Radiant Floor Heating as a Cooling System

open access: yesProceedings, 2019
The aim of this paper was to analyze the operational parameters of a radiant floor heating system working as a cooling system, in order to determine the value of possible heat flux and the floor surface temperature that can be obtain on the floor surface.

Occupant behaviour in naturally ventilated and hybrid buildings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Adaptive thermal comfort criteria for building occupants are now becoming established. In this paper we illustrate their use in the prediction of occupant behaviour and make a comparison with a non-adaptive temperature threshold approach.

Interactions of Antibody Drug Conjugate Anti‐Tubulin and Topoisomerase I Inhibitor Payloads with Radiotherapy to Potentiate Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Antibody drug conjugates deliver their cytotoxic anti‐tubulin or topoisomerase I inhibitor payloads to tumors through cancer cell receptor targeting. The released drug payloads induce cellular changes that interact with radiotherapy resulting in radiosensitization that improves cancer cell kill and stimulates anti‐tumor immune responses.
