The Solar-Assisted Vertical Ground Source Heat Pump System in Cold Climates—A Case Study

open access: yesProceedings, 2020
In this paper, experimental studies were performed for a solar ground source heat pump system (SGSHPS) with a vertical ground heat exchanger (VGHE). The experiment was operated during the summer in 2018. The heat from the solar collector was monitored by

Carbon dioxide concentration in Mediterranean greenhouses : how much lost production? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In the absence of artificial supply of carbon dioxide in the greenhouse environment, the CO2 absorbed in the process of photosynthesis must ultimately come from the external ambient through the ventilation openings.

Biomimetic Copper‐Doped Nano‐Aluminum Adjuvant Potentiates Therapy in Chemoresistant Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a novel copper‐doped aluminum nano‐adjuvant (CuNA) to overcome cytarabine resistance in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). CuNA effectively sensitizes drug‐resistant AML cells to cytarabine by inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and inhibiting HMGCR/GPX4 to amplify ferroptosis.

A sustainable analysis of a detached house heating system throughout its life cycle. A case study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Strategic Property Management, 2007
Approximately 40% of final energy is consumed in buildings both in Lithuania and the European Union. In cold climate countries major part of the consumed energy is heat.

CO2 Concentration and Occupants’ Symptoms in Naturally Ventilated Schools in Mediterranean Climate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A large part of the school building stock in Andalusia lacks ventilation facilities, so that the air renewal of the classrooms is achieved through the building envelope (air infiltration) or the opening of windows.

Characterization of an Injectable Poly(vinyl alcohol)‐gelatin Hydrogel for Growth Factor Delivery in an Orthopedic Application

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces photo‐crosslinkable tyraminated poly(vinyl alcohol)‐gelatin (PVA‐GT) hydrogels as tunable injectable platforms for tissue engineering and growth factor delivery applications. This schematic illustrates the two developed hydrogel formulations and the experimental workflow used to evaluate their physico‐chemical properties in vitro ...

A Personalized, 3D Printed Polymeric Device for the Prevention of Post‐Myocardial Infarction Cardiac Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Myocardial infarction often leads to pathological remodelling and ventricular dilatation, key features of HFrEF. This study introduces a personalized, 3D‐printed cardiac restraint device (CARD) printed using rationally designed inks displaying the requested printability and mechanical properties.
