We show that ocean acidification, more than warming or marine heatwaves, alters shoaling behaviour indirectly by simplifying reef habitat and reducing population densities and shoal sizes. Because fish behaviour can be strongly mediated by shoal size, climate‐driven habitat change may reshape social dynamics that influence how range‐extending fishes ...

Most studies of selection on breeding timing consider only first clutches. Using a 13‐year dataset of urban and forest great tits, we show that including second broods reshapes estimates of natural selection, revealing that early breeding is favoured through increased probability of multiple brooding and higher annual reproductive output.

The Consequences of Soil Organic Carbon for Crop Yield, Farm Productivity and Profit
ABSTRACT Crop choices affect soil organic carbon (SOC) stocks, allowing farmers to manipulate the amount of carbon sequestered in the soil over time. This paper examines the private and public benefits of crop rotations that sequester additional carbon across the province of Saskatchewan, Canada using a novel field‐level dataset from the Saskatchewan ...

‘Reinventing’ the Beach? Lessons from a Local Development Plan in the French Riviera
Abstract Coastal squeeze is now so tangible both globally and locally that the focus of scientific debate has expanded from the erosion of beaches to the risk of their disappearance. In this context, it is crucial to explore local development plans that aim to preserve the long‐term existence of a beach.
