Study of exclusive photoproduction of charmonium in ultra-peripheral lead-lead collisions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
The cross-sections of exclusive (coherent) photoproduction J/ψ and ψ(2S) mesons in ultra-peripheral PbPb collisions at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV are measured using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 228 ±

Electromagnetic probes in heavy-ion collisions [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Electromagnetic probes such as photons and dileptons (l+l−) are a unique tool to study the space-time evolution of the hot and dense matter created in heavy-ion collisions, since they are emitted at all stages of the collision with negligible final-state

Charmed exotics in heavy ion collisions [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2008
Based on the color-spin interaction in diquarks, we argue that charmed multiquark hadrons are likely to exist. Because of the appreciable number of charm quarks produced in central nucleus-nucleus collisions at ultrarelativistic energies, production of charmed multiquark hadrons is expected to be enhanced in these collisions.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Exploring QGP signature in small system: Insights from ALICE in p–Pb and pp collisions [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
The formation of quark-gluon plasma (QGP) has been confirmed in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion (i.e. Pb-Pb) collisions. Results from small collision systems, such as proton-ion (p–Pb) and proton-proton (pp) collisions at LHC energies, have revealed several

Designing Polymer Nanocomposites for X‐Ray Shielding: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Scalable Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights advances in lightweight, lead‐free polymer nanocomposites for diagnostic X‐ray shielding. By linking filler chemistry, dispersion, architecture, and photon interaction mechanisms, it establishes structure–performance relationships guiding material design.

Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

‘‘Antiflow’’ of antiprotons in heavy ion collisions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1994
In the framework of the relativistic quantum molecular dynamics approach we investigate antiproton (p\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}) observables in Au+Au collisions at 10.7A GeV. The rapidity dependence of the in-plane directed transverse momentum ${\mathbf{p}}_{\mathit{x}}$(y) of p\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}'s shows the opposite ...

Near‐Infrared Light‐Driven Zn/Au Janus Micromotors for Multiplex SERS Detection of Anticancer Drugs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zn/Au Janus micromotors, propelled by thermophoretic effects under NIR light, function as active SERS platforms for single and multiplex detection of anticancer drugs. Their dynamic motion enhances analyte exchange at the Au interface, reducing saturation and competitive adsorption, thereby improving sensitivity and extending the linear detection range.
