Processes with heavy ion collisions

Physics of Particles and Nuclei, 2011
Some Coulomb effects in heavy ion collisions are considered. Among them the process of muon and lepton pair creation, Coulomb and unitary corrections, statistics of multiple pair production. Effects of mul- tiple photon exchange in process of lepton pair production by linearly polarized photon on nuclei are consid- ered.

Microscopic description of heavy ion collisions

Nuclear Physics A, 1990
Abstract We solve numerically the Boltzmann Nordheim Vlasov equation and apply it to calculate physical observables. The collision term is treated in the mean free path approximation and checked for an exactly soluble problem. We calculate particle spectra produced in heavy ion collisions around the Fermi energy.

Disappearance of flow in heavy-ion collisions

Physical Review Letters, 1989
We report the first observation of the disappearance of flow in heavy-ion collisions. This is accomplished by measuring the excitation function of the average in-plane transverse momentum for the symmetric system $^{139}\mathrm{La}$, using beam energies of 130, 70, and 50 MeV/nucleon.

Elastoplasticity in dissipative heavy-ion collisions

Physical Review C, 1994
The spectral distributions of \ensuremath{\delta} electrons emitted in dissipative heavy-ion collisions represent an established tool to study the time evolution of the collision process. Especially, the yield of high-energy \ensuremath{\delta} electrons, which are measured for the first time up to an energy of 8 MeV, reflects short time scales and ...

Classical simulations of heavy-ion collisions

Physical Review C, 1987
We have carried out simulations of central collisions between two heavy ions by the classical molecular dynamics method. The ions used in these simulations are bound spheres of charged argon atoms, and the chosen mass numbers for the collisions are 108 on 108, 65 on 65, and 16 on 200.

Entropy evolution in heavy ion collision

Physical Review C, 1985
The entropy evolution in heavy ion collisions is investigated by means of a cascade model study. The method for calculating the entropy is based on a smoothing over the momentum space by introducing a local temperature field. It is shown that the resulting specific entropy is rather sensitive to the proper choice of the phase space subdivision at the ...
