Electron–Matter Interactions During Electron Beam Nanopatterning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article reviews the electron–matter interactions important to nanopatterning with electron beam lithography (EBL). Electron–matter interactions, including secondary electron generation routes, polymer radiolysis, and electron beam induced charging, are discussed.

Data-driven analysis of the beauty hadron production in pp collisions at the LHC with Bayesian unfolding

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Heavy flavour production in proton-proton (pp) collisions provides insights into the fundamental properties of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). Beauty hadron production measurements are widely performed through indirect approaches based on their inclusive ...

In Materia Shaping of Randomness with a Standard Complementary Metal‐Oxide‐Semiconductor Transistor for Task‐Adaptive Entropy Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study establishes a materials‐driven framework for entropy generation within standard CMOS technology. By electrically rebalancing gate‐oxide traps and Si‐channel defects in foundry‐fabricated FDSOI transistors, the work realizes in‐materia control of temporal correlation – achieving task adaptive entropy optimization for reinforcement learning ...

Measurement of beauty production via non-prompt charm hadrons in p–Pb collisions at s NN $$ \sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}} $$ = 5.02 TeV

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The production cross sections of D0, D+, and Λ c + $$ {\Lambda}_{\textrm{c}}^{+} $$ hadrons originating from beauty-hadron decays (i.e. non-prompt) were measured for the first time at midrapidity in proton–lead (p–Pb) collisions at the center-of-mass ...

FUTURE RELATIVISTIC HEAVY ION EXPERIMENTS

open access: yes, 1980
Equations of state for nuclear matter and ongoing experimental studies are discussed. Relativistic heavy ion physics is the only opportunity to study in the laboratory the properties of extended multiquark systems under conditions such that quarks might run together into new arrangements previously unobserved.

ALICE, the heavy ion experiment at LHC

open access: yes, 2001
ALICE, A Large Ion Collider Experiment, is the future Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiment at CERN devoted to the physics of Quantum Chromo-thermo-dynamics. Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions (HIC) at LHC aim at the production of a plasma of quarks and gluons (QGP).

Toward Scalable Solutions for Silver‐Based Gas Diffusion Electrode Fabrication for the Electrochemical Conversion of CO2 – A Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

Prompt and non-prompt J/ψ production at midrapidity in Pb–Pb collisions at s NN $$ \sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}} $$ = 5.02 TeV

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The transverse momentum (p T) and centrality dependence of the nuclear modification factor R AA of prompt and non-prompt J/ψ, the latter originating from the weak decays of beauty hadrons, have been measured by the ALICE collaboration in Pb–Pb collisions
