Molecular Fingerprinting of Heavy Metal-resistant Bacteria through FTIR Analysis Under Heavy Metal Stress

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Microbiology
Heavy metal contamination of soil and water poses serious risks to human health and ecosystems. This study focuses on two bacterial strains, Achromobacter insolitus PGRG5 and Enterobacter sp.

An integrated meta-omics approach reveals the different response mechanisms of two anammox bacteria towards fluoroquinolone antibiotics

open access: yesEnvironment International
The emerging fluoroquinolone antibiotics (FQs) are highly influential in nitrogen removal from livestock wastewater. However, beyond the capability of nitrogen removal, little is known about the molecular mechanisms (e.g., shift of core metabolism and ...

The adsorption effect of aquaculture residual feed on heavy metals and its impact on microbial metabolism of feed

open access: yesEcological Processes
Background Intensive and large-scale aquaculture has a high biological density, and a large amount of artificial feed must be provided. As a result, residual feed would be discharged into natural water bodies with water exchange.

Synergistic preparation and application in PCU of α-calcium sulfate hemihydrate whiskers from phosphogypsum and electrolytic manganese residue

open access: yesScientific Reports
The α-calcium sulfate hemihydrate whiskers (α-CSHWs) were first prepared using phosphogypsum (PG) and electrolytic manganese residue (EMR) as raw materials for coating urea, demonstrating excellent controlled-release properties.

Endophytic Bacillus sp. AP10 harboured in Arabis paniculata mediates plant growth promotion and manganese detoxification

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 2023
Phytoremediation of heavy metal-polluted soils assisted by plant-associated endophytes, is a suitable method for plant growth and manganese (Mn) removal in contaminated soils.

Dissymmetrical tunnelling in heavy fermion metals

open access: yes, 2005
A tunnelling conductivity between a heavy fermion metal and a simple metallic point is considered. We show that at low temperatures this conductivity can be noticeably dissymmetrical with respect to the change of voltage bias.

Mercapto–palygorskite decreases the Cd uptake of wheat by changing Fe and Mn fraction in Cd contaminated alkaline soil

open access: yesGeoderma
Wheat is one of the major sources of dietary nutrition for human body, and excessive Cadmium (Cd) in wheat poses a serious risk to human health. Mercapto–palygorskite (MP) has been proven to efficiently reduce Cd stress in wheat, but the contribution of ...

Asymmetric tunneling, Andreev reflection and dynamic conductance spectra in strongly correlated metals

open access: yes, 2006
Landau Fermi liquid theory predicts that the differential conductivity between metallic point and metal is a symmetric function of voltage bias V. This symmetry holds if the particle-hole symmetry is preserved. We show that the situation can be different
