Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

The investigation of heavy metal ion content in rock and coal production [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Приведено олгляд методів визначення вмісту важких металів у вугіллі та продуктах вуглевидобутку. Виявлена доцільність використання НВЧ-поля та зниження температури озолення проб для підвищення точності визначення та зниження витрат часу на проведення ...

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Evidence for a Ru$^{4+}$ Kondo Lattice in LaCu$_3$Ru$_4$O$_{12}$

open access: yes, 2016
Rare $d$-electron derived heavy-fermion properties of the solid-solution series LaCu$_3$Ru$_x$Ti$_{4-x}$O$_{12}$ were studied for $1 \leq x \leq 4$ by resistivity, susceptibility, specific-heat measurements, and magnetic-resonance techniques.

The crystal structure of the Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase BBE22 resolves a long‐standing annotation error

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase (PncA/BBE22) reveals the correct full‐length protein initiated from a non‐canonical AUU start codon. The structure validates previous biochemical findings and resolves a long‐standing annotation error, demonstrating that the truncated database sequence is structurally incompatible with the ...
