Heavy Fermion Behaviors in LiV_{2}O_{4} [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica B 281-282, 21-25 (2000), 1999
Experiments of various types on the metallic transition metal oxide compound LiV_{2}O_{4} with the fcc normal-spinel structure are reviewed. The low-temperature T < 10 K data consistently indicate heavy fermion (HF) behaviors characteristic of those of the heaviest-mass f-electron HF compounds.

Network of Steel: Neural Font Style Transfer from Heavy Metal to Corporate Logos [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
We introduce a method for transferring style from the logos of heavy metal bands onto corporate logos using a VGG16 network. We establish the contribution of different layers and loss coefficients to the learning of style, minimization of artefacts and maintenance of readability of corporate logos.

Accumulation of heavy metals in agricultural soil irrigated by sewage sludge and industrial effluent (case study: Agh ghallah industrial estate) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background and purpose: Industrial effluent and sewage sludge are used as fertilizer since they contain high levels of nutrient. The main pollutant in industrial effluent is heavy metals.

Quasiparticles and order parameter near quantum phase transition in heavy fermion metals

open access: yes, 2005
It is shown that the Landau paradigm based upon both the quasiparticle concept and the notion of the order parameter is valid and can be used to explain the anomalous behavior of the heavy fermion metals near quantum critical points. The understanding of

A Possible Solution for the M/L-[Fe/H] Relation of Globular Clusters in M31: A metallicity and density dependent top-heavy IMF [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The observed mass-to-light ($M/L$) ratios of a large sample of GCs in M31 show an inverse trend with metallicity compared to what is expected from Simple Stellar Population (SSP) models with an invariant canonical stellar IMF, in the sense that the observed $M/L$ ratios decrease with increasing metallicity.
