Heavy-metal adsorption by non-living biomass

Chemistry and Ecology, 2005
The adsorption of some heavy metals onto the walls of harvested, washed, and dried non-living biomass cells of different Pseudomonas strains was studied at optimum experimental conditions using a simplified single component system. The Langmuir adsorption model was found to be a suitable approach to describe the system via multi-step processes ...

Adsorption of heavy metals onto sewage sludge-derived materials

Bioresource Technology, 2008
Two materials were produced from sewage sludge by: (1) pyrolysis of dried sewage sludge (PS); (2) chemical activation of dried sewage sludge with ZnCl(2) followed by pyrolysis (AS). The aim was to study the application of these materials for metal purification from water and to determine the efficiency of each material.

Adsorption of heavy metals on soil

2020
Adsorption-desorption data are the main processesgoverning the mobility of compounds in soil.In this study, the adso:rptioninvestigated on two different soils (from Bursa andIstanbul) for three heavy metals (Cu, Ni, Zn)! andadsorption capacity (K) and adso:rption intensity (l/n)values were found.

Polysilsesquioxane Open Hollow Spheres for Heavy Metal Ions Adsorption

Chemistry – A European Journal
AbstractHollow microspheres with open windows on the shells have shown significant potential in adsorption, catalysis, and drug delivery fields, owing to their low density, large interior volume, high specific surface area, and abundant availability of adsorption sites. However, creating open hollow spheres with structurally stable and entirely organic‐

Kinetic modeling of heavy metal adsorption systems

2018
Adsorption is a simple and effective technology to remove and recover heavy metal from wastewater to mitigate detrimental impacts on the environment and human health. Wastewater and acid leachate in metal recovery processes typically contain mixtures of different metals in appreciable amounts, which can affect the separation process.

ADSORPTION OF HEAVY METAL IONS BY POPLAR SAWDUST

Decontamination of synthetic Ni(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) Solutions using poplar sawdust Was investigated. Batch sorption studies have been carried Out to determine the effect of contact time, temperature and initial Concentration of heavy metal ions (HMI) on adsorption. Equilibrium time was found to be around 60 min.
