Water Injection In Viscous Oil Through Horizontal Well [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Water injection is often used as a recovery method for light oil reservoirs; however, for heavy oil reservoirs its efficiency is not so high mainly due to the unfavorable water-oil mobility ratio.

The Experimental and Modeling Study on the Effect of Ethane in Helium-Rich Natural Gas on the Thermodynamic Equilibrium of Hydrate Formation in the Presence of Tetrahydrofuran

open access: yesMolecules
Hydrate-based gas separation (HBGS) is a new method for extracting helium from helium-rich natural gas (HNG). The ethane in HNG affects the thermodynamic equilibrium hydrate formation pressure (Peq), and Peq is crucial to the application of HBGS for ...

Extended Anionic Network in Mixed‐Valent Nitridocobaltates(I/II) LnCo2N2 (Ln = La, Pr, Nd)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents the high‐pressure synthesis of LnCo2N2 (Ln = La, Pr, Nd) with Co in mixed valent states of +I/+II. The compounds demonstrate the stabilization of a nitridocobaltate with extended anionic Co–N layers where Co is threefold coordinated.

Heavy crude oil fields and bitumen deposits of the Middle and Far East and Oceania [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
journal articleA total of 119 heavy-oil fields are located in the Middle and Far East and Oceania, in 19 countries. Of these, 12 have ultimate recoveries of more than 500 million barrels, and nine of more than 1000 million barrels. About 97% of the total

An Artificially Selected Cytokinin‐Pathway Transcription Factor Balances Soybean Yield and Pathogen Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cytokinin pathway transcription factor, RR2b, was artificially selected during soybean domestication and improvement based on its differential transcriptional activity, which correlates with ATT repeat polymorphisms in its promoter. RR2b balances yield and defense by fine‐tuning its expression level and offers a promising target for decoupling trade ...

Heavy-organic particle deposition from petroleum fluid flow in oil wells and pipelines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Suspended asphaltenic heavy organic particles in petroleum fluids may stick to the inner walls of oil wells and pipelines. This is the major reason for fouling and arterial blockage in the petroleum industry. This report is devoted to study the mechanism

PBA based nanomaterials as a rising star for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction

open access: yesDiscover Electrochemistry
Hydrogen, with its high energy density and extensive application potential, stands out as a promising energy carrier. Water electrolysis (HER) is one of the most cost-effective routes for hydrogen production, with significant potential for large-scale ...

A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

A Sustainable Bio‐Based Epoxy Thermoset as a High‐Performance Alternative to BPA‐Based Resins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rigid–flexible bio‐based epoxy network integrates soybean oil, lignin, and maleic anhydride to overcome the strength–toughness–sustainability trade‐off of conventional BPA epoxy. The thermoset delivers excellent performance as both a structural adhesive and a matrix for glass‐fabric composites, while enabling pH‐responsive degradation, environmental ...

First international survey of heavy crude and tar sands [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
In March 1983 the UNITAR/UNDP Information Centre for Heavy Crude and Tar Sands, with the approval of its Advisory Board, decided to organize a world-wide survey of government agencies for information on heavy crude and tar sands resources and production.
