Enhancing polyol/sugar cascade oxidation to formic acid with defect rich MnO2 catalysts

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Oxidation of renewable polyol/sugar into formic acid using molecular O2 over heterogeneous catalysts is still challenging due to the insufficient activation of both O2 and organic substrates on coordination-saturated metal oxides.

Health Hazard Manual For Cutting Oils, Coolants, and Metalworking Fluids [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
[Excerpt] The metalworker can be exposed to cutting oils during application by two basic routes of entry: skin contact and inhalation. The higher risk jobs tend to be those with high cutting speeds, heavy oil flow, and continuous contact, which may ...

Electrochemical synthesis of FeNx doped carbon quantum dots for sensitive detection of Cu2+ ion

open access: yesGreen Energy & Environment, 2023
A novel strategy was developed to fabricate FeNx-doped carbon quantum dots (Fe-N-CQDs) to detect Cu2+ ions selectively as a fluorescence probe. The Fe-N-CQDs were synthesized by an efficient electrolysis of a carbon cloth electrode, which was coated with

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.
