RECENT PROGRESS IN HEAVY QUARK PHYSICS [PDF]
Some of the recent progress in heavy quark physics is reviewed. Special attention is paid to inclusive methods for determining Vub and factorization in nonleptonic [Formula: see text] decays. Theoretical predictions for [Formula: see text] production near threshold are also discussed.

Prediction of the CP asymmetry C 00 in B0→D0D0¯ $$ {B}^0\to {D}^0\overline{D^0} $$ decay
Of all B→DD¯ $$ B\to D\overline{D} $$ decays, the B0→D0D0¯ $$ {B}^0\to {D}^0\overline{D^0} $$ decay has the smallest observed branching ratio as it takes place primarily via the suppressed W-exchange diagram.

Probing the ∆U = 0 rule in three body charm decays
CP violation in charm decay was observed in the decays D 0 → P ± P ∓ of a D 0 meson to two pseudoscalars. When interpreted within the SM, the results imply that the ratio of the relevant rescattering amplitudes has a magnitude and phase that are both of ...

Quark Nuclear Physics with Heavy Quarks
Heavy quarks have been instrumental for progress in our exploration of strong interactions. Quarkonium in particular, a heavy quark-antiquark nonrelativistic bound state, has been at the root of several revolutions. Quarkonium is endowed with a pattern of separated energy scales qualifying it as special probe of complex environments.

Abstract figure legend During cardiopulmonary exercise testing, the decline in oxygenation in the prefrontal cortex of women is striking. This crucial brain area is directly involved in planning motor tasks. The decline is particularly pronounced at higher exercise intensities, especially after reaching the respiratory compensation point or anaerobic ...

Heavy Domain Wall Fermions: The RBC and UKQCD charm physics program
We review the domain wall charm physics program of the RBC and UKQCD collaborations based on simulations including ensembles with physical pion mass. We summarise our current set-up and present a status update on the decay constants fD, fDs, the charm ...

Abstract High‐intensity endurance exercise induces myocardial remodelling as an adaptive response to sustained volume overload, but excessive cumulative training might also favour deleterious cardiac remodelling, including atrial fibrosis. Whether acute marathon running engages circulating fibrosis‐related biomarkers and whether these biomarkers track ...

Abstract figure legend Exercise‐induced increases in forearm venous plasma and serum brain‐derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) are often assumed to be indicative of release from the brain. Sixteen healthy and physically fit adults (20–40 years old) were recruited to investigate whether exercise‐induced changes in forearm venous mature BDNF (mBDNF) and ...
