Recent pQCD calculations of heavy quark production [PDF]
We summarize the results of a recent study of heavy quark production and attenuation in cold nuclear matter. In p+p collisions, we investigate the relative contribution of partonic sub-processes to $D$ meson production and $D$ meson-triggered inclusive di-hadrons to lowest order in perturbative QCD.

Heavy Quark Productions with Spin
Heavy quark productions in high energy polarized scatterings are reviewed from a personal point of view. After mentioning why heavy quark physics is so interesting, I concentrate on two rather specific subjects: (1) polarized $Λ_{c}^{+}$ productions in deep inelastic $\ell p$ scatterings and (2) $ψ^{\prime}$ productions in polarized $pp$ collisions ...

Highlights from PHENIX at RHIC
Hadrons conveying strange quarks or heavy quarks are essential probes of the hot and dense medium created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. With hidden strangeness, ϕ meson production and its transport in the nuclear medium have attracted high ...

Single charged Higgs boson production at next generation linear colliders
We study the single production of charged Higgs bosons in e+e- collisions, chiefly in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Our analysis complements foregoing studies of the pair production channel especially in regions where the kinematic ...

Probing gluon and heavy-quark nuclear PDFs with photon + heavy quark production in pA collisions [PDF]
We present a detailed phenomenological study of direct photon production in association with a heavy-quark jet in pA collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at next-to-leading order in QCD.

HEAVY QUARKS AND MESON PRODUCTION IN ULTRAPERIPHERAL HEAVY ION COLLISIONS
We report on our recent investigations into photonuclear production of heavy quarks and vector mesons in ultraperipheral heavy ion collisions. In particular, our theoretical predictions are compared with the recent experimental measurements on coherent ρ (STAR) and J/Ψ (PHENIX) photoproduction at RHIC, and estimates for LHC are given.

Heavy Quark Production Asymmetries
In the hadroproduction of charm (or heavy flavours in general) in the context of string fragmentation, the pull of a beam remnant at the other end of a string may give a charm hadron more energy than the perturbatively produced one. The collapse of a low-mass string to a single hadron is the extreme case in this direction, and gives rise to asymmetries

Hadron ratio fluctuations in heavy-ion collisions
The first measurement of the fluctuation of the kaon-to-proton ratio in relativistic heavy-ion collisions is presented. This thesis details the analysis procedure for identifying kaons and protons using the NA49 experiment at CERN-SPS and discusses the ...
