Heavy Quark Production: Theory
Nuclear Physics A, 2007Abstract The purpose of this talk is to review the ability (and the limits) of a perturbative QCD approach in describing the available data on heavy quark production at various high-energy colliders. We shall not discuss the possible modifications induced by production in a dense medium, but rather try to establish the validity of a benchmark on top ...

Higgs-boson production from heavy-quark fusion
Physical Review D, 1989We study the production of Higgs bosons from heavy-quark fusion at future hadron colliders. We use a heavy-quark distribution function to combine the processes QQ\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}H and gQ\ensuremath{\rightarrow}HQ with the process gg\ensuremath{\rightarrow}QQ\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}H to obtain ...

Heavy quark production at HERA
Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1997Charm production at HERA from the 1994 data samples of the H1 and ZEUS experiments with luminosities of ≈ 3 pb −1 each has been observed, where 27.5 GeV positrons collided with 820 GeV protons. Results are presented on elastic J / ψ in photoproduction and deep inelastic scattering (DIS), inelastic J / ψ in photoproduction, D *± in ...

Heavy quark production in ultraperipherical heavy ion collisions
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2004We report our investigation in photonuclear production of heavy quarks in ultraperipheral heavy ion collisions. The charm and bottom cross section are computed employing sound high energy QCD formalisms: the usual collinear approach, the semihard formalism, the saturation model and the color glass condensate (CGC) formalism.

Soft Resummation for Heavy-Quark Production
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2005We review the need for soft‐gluon resummation for heavy quark production in charged‐ and neutral‐current deep‐inelastic scattering and explain its effect on observables like the charm structure function.
