Exceptionally heavy rainfall in Karlovo valley
2023<p>Exceptionally heavy rainfall are one of the most difficult and challenging problems for forecasters. The synoptic situation at the beginning of September 2022, which led to significant precipitation in the Karlovo valley, was analysed.

Feedlot Odor Emissions Following Heavy Rainfall
Transactions of the ASAE, 1994There is a need to develop predictive models for odor emissions from cattle feedlots. Surface emissions of odor from a feedlot pen were sampled under standardized aerodynamic conditions using a portable wind tunnel and tested with a forced-choice, dynamic-dilution olfactometer over a five-day period following 64 mm of rain.

Heavy rainfall occurrences in northeast India
International Journal of Climatology, 2012AbstractIn operational meteorology, forecasting heavy rainfall (HRF) events has been a long‐standing challenge in India. This is especially true in certain regions where the physical geography lends itself to the creation of such HRF events. Northeast India (NEI) is one such region within the Asian monsoon zone, which receive very HRF during the pre ...

Application of machine learning to an early warning system for very short-term heavy rainfall
Journal of Hydrology, 2019The purpose of an early warning system (EWS) is to issue warning signals prior to extreme events. Extreme weather events, however, are hard to predict due to their chaotic behavior.
