Non-Exhaust PM Emissions from Heavy-Duty Vehicles [PDF]
The important technological improvements have been made for reducing particulate matter (PM) emissions from exhaust sources, but no actions are currently in place to reduce the non-exhaust part of emissions such as those from brake wear, road wear, tyre ...

Route-Sensitive Fuel Consumption Models for Heavy-Duty Vehicles [PDF]
This article investigates the ability of data-driven models to estimate instantaneous fuel consumption over 1 km road segments from different routes for different heavy-duty vehicles from the same fleet.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Building machine‐readable vocabularies for materials science is slow, expert‐driven work. This study benchmarks 13 large language models on two of its first steps: finding candidate terms in engineering articles and deciding where they belong in a class hierarchy.

Survey for the development of compressed natural gas systems (CNG) for vehicles [PDF]
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles have been used internationally by fleets for decades. The use of CNG vehicles results in less petroleum consumption, resulting in fewer air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions in most applications. In Europe, the
