Integration of GIS and HEC-HMS for sustainable drainage structure modeling
An effective approach to addressing the challenges of overload in urban drainage systems is the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with hydrological modeling software. In this context, the primary objective of this study was to integrate QGIS with HEC-HMS and apply them to the design of sustainable drainage structures.

On 2D and 3D parameter derivatio n for r ainfall- r unoff models [PDF]
Geoinformation technology, particularly GIS and digital terrain models, is commonly used at present in order to derive parameters of basins and flow paths. These parameters are subsequently used to create spatially based rainfall-runoff models.

Applicability of the HEC-HMS model for continuous runoff simulations
To examine the applicability of the HEC-HMS software for continuous runoff simulations, efficiencies of three different HEC-HMC models are assessed. The first and the second models are lumped ones, based on deficit and constant loss model and (more complex) Soil Moisture Accounting (SMA) loss model, respectively, whereas the third model is the semi ...

Modelling inflows in Ilarion reservoir, Greece, using HEC-HMS
This study investigates the application of the Hydrologic Modeling System (HEC-HMS) for simulating inflows to the Ilarion Reservoir, the first reservoir in the cascade of five along the Aliakmon River in northern Greece. The model is calibrated using observed meteorological and hydrological data to assess its performance and reliability in reproducing ...
