Ambulatory Assessment of Ankle and Foot Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Ground reaction force (GRF) measurement is important in the analysis of human body movements. The main drawback of the existing measurement systems is the restriction to a laboratory environment. This paper proposes an ambulatory system for assessing the

The assessment algorithm of technological feasibility of SOx scrubber installation

open access: yesTransport, 2018
The problematics of installation of sulphur oxides (SOx) scrubber becomes much relevant for today due to the new Annex VI of MARPOL 73/78 requirements, which sets 0.1% SOx limits by 2015 in Emission Control Area (ECA) and globally to 0.5% in 2020.

The heel pad in plantar heel pain [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 1994
A study of heel-pad thickness and compressibility using lateral radiographs, loaded and unloaded by body-weight, was carried out on 70 patients with plantar heel pain and 200 normal subjects. The heel-pad thickness and the compressibility index (resistance to compression) were greater in the patients than in normal subjects and significantly increased

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Autosomal Recessive Spastic Ataxia of Charlevoix‐Saguenay in Two Half‐Siblings

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Autosomal recessive spastic ataxia of Charlevoix‐Saguenay (ARSACS) is caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in the SACS gene. We report the clinical, radiologic and neurophysiologic features of a pair of half‐siblings who presented with progressive cerebellar ataxia, peripheral neuropathy and upper motor neuron signs.

Lateral heel pain [PDF]

open access: yesSkeletal Radiology, 2013
Baxter’s nerve originates from the lateral plantar nerve near the trifurcation of the posterior tibial nerve at the level of the medial malleolus [1–5]. It may also infrequently arise directly from the tibial nerve or at the common origin of the medial calcaneal nerve [5].

The Case of a 28‐Year‐Old Woman With Medically Refractory Focal Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present the case of a 28‐year‐old right‐handed woman with medically refractory focal epilepsy. Her seizure semiology and electroencephalography (EEG) indicated a seizure onset zone in the right central‐parietal area. However, both MRI and PET scans were unremarkable, showing no focal lesions or areas of altered metabolism.
