From Adult to Adolescent: Alignment in Clinical Trials and Outcomes in Axial Spondyloarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Spondyloarthritis (SpA) is a group of chronic inflammatory diseases encompassing axial and peripheral forms, with up to 20% of patients developing symptoms before age 16. Despite this substantial pediatric burden, treatment options for juvenile‐onset SpA (JSpA), particularly those with axial disease (axJSpA), remain limited.

THE "NEW HEEL" [PDF]

open access: yesJAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1913
WITH A PATHOGNOMONIC SIGN FOR DETECTING INFLAMMATORY LESIONS IN THE ANTERIOR ARCH OF THE FOOT The most frequent of all causes for painful feet is inflammation in the anterior arches. Of the sufferers who come for relief for foot conditions, the women patients especially—shall we say 100 per cent.

Negotiating in a Foreign Land: Understanding the Curious Interactions Between Intracellular Mitochondria and Internalized Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Therapeutic nano‐drug delivery systems interact with cellular mitochondria in a multitude of ways. While the complexity of such interactions disrupts the mitochondrial electron transport chain and increases reactive oxygen species production, thereby contributing to nanoparticle toxicity, they also present unique theranostic opportunities in diseases ...

Flexible Pressure Sensor With Co‐Optimized Sensitivity and Linearity Based on Gradient Toroidal Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible piezoresistive pressure sensor with gradient toroidal CNT/PDMS microstructures is reported. The hierarchical geometry enables sequential electrode contact, achieving a sensitivity of 256.20 kPa−1 and linear response (R2 = 0.99) over 0–1000 kPa.

Quality Improvement Intervention Decreases Pain and Adverse Events Due to Heel Lances in Infants

open access: yesChildren
Background: Studies have investigated ways to reduce infants’ pain during heel lancing, but research on preventing adverse events is scarce. This study investigated whether or not the number of infants with normal comfort (>8 and ≤14), distress (≤4), and

Degradable Magnetic Composites from Recycled NdFeB Magnets for Soft Actuation and Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a degradable soft magnetic composite made from recycled NdFeB particles embedded in a gelatin‐based organogel. The material is processed into magnetic sensors and soft robotic components, which can later be dissolved in a green solvent to recover NdFeB magnetic particles.
