Ocean‐Area geoid heights and mean gravity anomalies from GEOS‐3 data
Marine Geodesy, 1980Geoid heights derived from GEOS‐3 radar altimeter measurements have been used to predict an ocean‐area gridded 1°×1° geoid height data base. These geoid heights are compared at 1°×1° grid intersections with similar values computed via spherical harmonic expansion, utilizing several different geo‐potential coefficient sets, and also with the Calibration

Classification of 500 mb Height Anomalies Using Obliquely Rotated Principal Components
Journal of Climate and Applied Meteorology, 1983Abstract The objective of this study was to classify 500 mb height anomaly patterns for North America using principal component analysis with oblique rotation. Two versions of the oblique rotation, oblimax and direct oblimin, were applied to two gridded networks of different point densities and areal extents.

GEOIDAL HEIGHTS FOR AFRICA FROM GEM9 POTENTIAL COEFFICIENTS AND DEGREE GRAVITY ANOMALIES
Survey Review, 1985AbstractOur better knowledge now of the earth's gravity field, especially in Africa, together with the use of line-integral geoidal equations for geographically defined gravity anomaly blocks, make it possible for us to compute a fairly accurate detailed geoid of Africa. We present here the results of these computations for geoid heights using (20, 20)

Forecasting Northern Hemisphere 700-mb Geopotential Height Anomalies Using Empirical Normal Modes
Monthly Weather Review, 1993Abstract Multivariate linear prediction based on single-lag inverse modeling is developed further and critically examined. The method is applied to the National Meteorological Center analyses of Northern Hemisphere 700-mb geopotential height anomalies, which have been filtered to eliminate periods shorter than 10 days.

Investigation of Height of Local Magnetic Anomaly at Port Snettisham, Southeastern Alaska
Terrestrial Magnetism and Atmospheric Electricity, 1941Introduction—During the past few years the demands upon the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey .for reliable aeronautical charts has greatly increased owing to the number of. small privately owned aircraft that have come into use. The owners of these planes demand more information regarding the local magnetic anomalies over the main traveled ...

Determination of discrete values of anomaly heights at territory of Montenegro
2016This paper presents the evaluation and comparison test of a series of global geopotential models (GGM) using available terrestrial data over the territory of Montenegro. Using the model of Gravity Observation Combination 02S and 03S (G00002S and GOCO03S) with three different approaches (space-wise approach, time-wise approach, and direct approach) as ...

Spatial Variability of Seasonal Sea Level Pressure and 500 mb Height Anomalies
Monthly Weather Review, 1981Abstract The spatial variability of seasonal mean sea level pressure (SLP) and 500 mb height anomalies are determined using eigenvector analysis. Previously, spatial variability had only been analyzed in such a manner during winter months, and the time coefficients of the eigenvectors of SLP and 500 mb heights were not compared. The eigenvectors of SLP
