Evaluating Plant Brushing as a Strategy for Height Control in Edible Crop Species [PDF]
Greenhouse growers producing edible crops can encounter specific challenges when optimizing growing conditions. One challenge is soft growth associated with rapid tissue expansion. Soft growth can lead to plants falling over or soft, floppy leaves. These

Growth Patterns in the First Three Years of Life in Children with Classical Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia Diagnosed by Newborn Screening and Treated with Low Doses of Hydrocortisone [PDF]
Background: Linear growth is the best clinical parameter for monitoring metabolic control in classical congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). Objective: To analyze growth patterns in children with CAH diagnosed by newborn screening and treated with ...

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Instability, Intermittency and Multiscaling in Discrete Growth Models of Kinetic Roughening
We show by numerical simulations that discretized versions of commonly studied continuum nonlinear growth equations (such as the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation and the Lai-Das Sarma equation) and related atomistic models of epitaxial growth have a generic ...

School-Based Deworming Program Yields Small Improvement in Growth of Zanzibari School Children After one Year. [PDF]
Efficacy trials of antihelminthic therapies conducted in Africa have reported improvements in children's growth, but nutritional evaluations of large-scale deworming programs are lacking.

The final phase of growth in height
Among 221 boys investigated, only 54% had the same (+/- 1 cm) body height at age 27 years as they had at age 19. Longitudinal observations of those boys indicate that the increment from 18 to 27 years is strongly dependent on skeletal maturation and even on such a distant event as age at peak height velocity.

Growth and Related Treatment Factors in Mucopolysaccharidoses Type I and II: A Systematic Review [PDF]
Background: There is an association between treatment options and growth in patients with mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS). The appropriate management of MPS is an essential factor for the growth of the patients.

Kinetic Roughening in Growth Models with Diffusion in Higher Dimensions
We present results of numerical simulations of kinetic roughening for a growth model with surface diffusion (the Wolf-Villain model) in 3+1 and 4+1~dimensions using lattices of a linear size up to $L=64$ in 3+1~D and $L=32$ in 4+1~D.
