Predicting Home Exercise Adherence after Ischemic Stroke: Development and Validation of a Web‐Based Nomogram

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
We developed and internally validated a web‐based nomogram to predict poor adherence to home‐based functional exercise after ischemic stroke. In 536 patients, latent profile analysis identified three adherence profiles, and a five‐predictor LASSO–logistic model demonstrated good discrimination, calibration, and clinical utility.

STEAP1 Suppresses Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma by Targeting Wnt/β‐Catenin Signalling and EMT

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective The present study aimed to investigate the expression and biological behaviour of the six‐transmembrane epithelial antigen of the prostate 1 (STEAP1) in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), and to further analyse its underlying mechanisms.

Cervical Resection of a Suprapericardial Retrosternal Goiter Without Thoracotomy: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT A cervical approach combined with thoracoscopic assistance and preoperative tracheal stenting offers a safe and minimally invasive alternative to sternotomy for managing retrosternal goiters extending to the pericardium with severe airway compression.

A pleiotropic “stretch” phenotype is associated with metaxylem vessel element length, axial hydraulic conductance, root elongation, water utilization, and drought adaptation in maize

open access: yesCrop Science, Volume 66, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
Abstract We tested the hypothesis that metaxylem phenotypes influence drought adaptation in maize (Zea mays L.) through in silico modeling and empirical studies under water deficit in controlled environments and in the field. Substantial genotypic variation for metaxylem vessel element length (MVEL) was observed. Longer MVEL was correlated with reduced
