Behavioural manipulation of the cabbage stem flea beetle (Psylliodes chrysocephala L): Prospects for push–pull strategies in oilseed rape

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Behavioural manipulation of Psylliodes chrysocephala provides promising opportunities for sustainable pest management in oilseed rape systems. This review synthesises evidence on glucosinolates and their volatile isothiocyanate derivatives as phagostimulants and attractants, alongside the repellent or antifeedant effects of non‐host plants, plant ...

Photocatalytic and Biotechnological Strategies for Remediation of Persistent Organic Pollutants: Mechanisms, Toxicity, and Antimicrobial Perspectives

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) pose significant ecological and human health risks due to their persistence, bioaccumulation, toxicity, and global distribution. Conventional remediation methods are often inadequate for achieving complete mineralization, demonstrating the need for advanced and substantial approaches.

Spraying drones: efficacy of integrating an avian repellent with drone hazing to elicit blackbird flock dispersal and abandonment of sunflower fields

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Multiple management strategies exist to combat bird damage to agriculture. We explored combining two tools, drones as frightening devices and an avian repellent, to assess effectiveness of an integrated method to deter large flocks on complex landscapes. We evaluated the ability of a spraying drone (DJI Agras MG‐1P) deploying Avian Control (i.e. active

Seleção de espécies de adubos verdes visando à fitorremediação de diclosulam Selection of green manure species aiming at diclosulam phytoremediation

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2013
Espécies de adubos verdes tolerantes ao herbicida diclosulam podem ser utilizadas em rotação de culturas para diminuir o efeito fitotóxico subsequente desse herbicida em plantas sensíveis, como o girassol ou milho.

Art v 1 and Amb a 4 Co‐Sensitization Identifies Italian Patients at Risk for Mugwort‐Celery‐Spice Syndrome

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Three molecular profiles identified among Art v 1/Amb a 4‐sensitized patients: Art v 1 monosensitization, Amb a 4 monosensitization, and dual sensitization to both allergens. Art v 1 monosensitization was predominantly associated with allergic rhinitis, reflecting a classical airborne allergy pattern.

Trichomes in Plant Defence, Development and Metabolic Integration Under Environmental Stress

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Among various plant defence strategies, trichomes are tiny hair‐like structures on the epidermis that aid in defence, environmental adaptation and the production of valuable secondary metabolites. This review features trichomes as frontline guards for plant survival, integrating their structural, physiological and metabolic roles in ...

Revisiting the Temperature Dependence of the Photorespiratory CO2 Compensation Point (Γ*)

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accurate estimation of the photorespiratory CO2 compensation point (Γ*) is essential for describing the balance between Rubisco carboxylation and oxygenation and for parameterising biochemical models of photosynthesis. Γ* and the rate of CO2 release in the light (DL) are commonly estimated using the Laisk method, based on measurements of net ...

Exogenous IAA application alleviated altered physiological and biochemical processes through promoting H‐ATPase and Fe chelate reductase activities in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) subjected to iron deficiency

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Exogenous IAA supply enhances the strategy I response in common bean under iron deficiency. Abstract Iron deficiency is a common nutritional disorder observed in calcareous soils, where its resolution by classical methods has shown its failure. However, the exploitation of certain potentialities possessed by crops (rhizosphere acidification, H‐ATPase ...
