The Kinematics of Crossed Helical Gears
Journal of Mechanical Design, 1982A study is made of the motion of crossed helical gears. Exact expressions are derived for the position of the contact point on each gear and for the sliding velocity, both as functions of gear position. It is shown how to calculate the angular positions of each gear at the beginning and end of contact, and hence the contact ratio.

Noise of Involute Helical Gears
Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1969The problem of involute helical gear noise is studied by running a pair of 6 DP gears in a power circulating rig inside an anechoic room. More than 3500 magnetic tape recordings were taken and analyzed, for gears running at different speeds and transmitting different loads.
