Can Elastomers Combine Stiffness, Toughness and Fatigue Resistance?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review studies how the molecular and macroscopic architecture of elastomers influence their mechanical properties including: stiffness, stretchability, toughness, fatigue resistance, and damping behavior. By linking the structure to performance, it proposes design principles for advanced elastomeric systems that combine mechanical properties ...

The Comparative Study on Cutting Performance of Different-Structure Milling Cutters in Machining CFRP

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) is typically hard to process, because it is easy for it to generate processing damage such as burrs, tears, delamination, and so on in the machining process. Consequently, this restricts its wide spread application.

Artificial Neural Network System for Predicting Cutting Forces in Helical-End Milling of Laser-Deposited Metal Materials

open access: yesTehnički Glasnik, 2023
When machining difficult-to-cut metal materials often used to make sheet metal forming tools, excessive cutting force jumps often break the cutting edge. Therefore, this research developed a system of three neural network models to accurately predict the

Coaxial Melt Electrowriting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Coaxial melt electrowriting is established to produce dual‐property microfibers with diameters spanning 1.6–29.2 µm. Stable coaxial laminar flow is preserved under electrohydrodynamic thinning, enabling controlled binary and gradient material switching within individual continuous fibers.

Degradable Magnetic Composites from Recycled NdFeB Magnets for Soft Actuation and Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a degradable soft magnetic composite made from recycled NdFeB particles embedded in a gelatin‐based organogel. The material is processed into magnetic sensors and soft robotic components, which can later be dissolved in a green solvent to recover NdFeB magnetic particles.
