Helicopter drops in an open economy when markets are incomplete

open access: yesEconomic Inquiry, EarlyView.
Abstract We characterize the spillover effects of helicopter drops and optimal monetary policy in a tractable two‐country overlapping generations model with incomplete markets. As helicopter drops can affect the distribution of income across countries, they create room for redistribution policies which are particularly relevant when agents are ...

Temperature elevation broadens the dietary niche of an insect herbivore

open access: yesEcological Entomology, EarlyView.
The realised dietary niche in Chrysomela lapponica was the narrowest at 10°C, whereas higher temperatures (15–25°C) broadened the dietary niche by increasing preference for and survival on suboptimal host plants. Elevated temperature broadened the realised dietary niche through both direct effects on beetles and indirect effects mediated by temperature‐

A New Approach to Transforming Airborne Electromagnetic Data into Models of Sediment Type

open access: yesGroundwater, EarlyView.
A new methodology provides the relationship needed to transform electrical resistivity measurements from airborne electromagnetic surveys to sediment type. By accounting for the physics of the measurement and the quality of the driller's logs used in developing the transform, the method improves the accuracy of derived sediment type models.
